macXware Tops NPD Techworld® Productivity Categories Fastest Growing Mac Software Publisher
Continues to Lead OS X Segments OMAHA,
NE – April 29, 2004 –
macXware™ (a division of
Summitsoft Corporation) announced today that it has retained the number
one positions in three key Mac categories reported by NPD Techworld:
Fonts, Home Photo Editing and SOHO (Small/Home Business). The creative
tools and productive elements found in the software exemplify macXware’s
commitment to Mac OS X users.
“We are extremely pleased with the gracious and intensive
support we have received from the Mac community,” said Bruce Lowry,
Summitsoft’s President and CEO. “Since its launch late last year, macXware
has captured the #4 spot in overall Mac software sales for the
productivity category, and the #3 spot in the business category behind
Microsoft and Apple.”
Breaking into the #1 spot when it debuted last September,
MacFonts now faces tough competition from MoreMacFonts, a collection of
brand new TrueType fonts to add to the MacFonts compilation. Both
collections feature a wide assortment of high quality TrueType fonts along
with a FontManager for quick preview and installation.
PhotoEdit remains the dominant choice for Home Photo Editing
for the seventh month in a row. Along with the usual bevy of photo editing
features, PhotoEdit allows users to choose a custom replacement color when
removing redeye, and includes customizable brushes, effects and paint
tools.
LogoCreator continues to lead the SOHO (Small/Home Business)
category since its introduction five months ago. The appeal for this
“do-it-yourself” logo designer can be attributed to the virtually
unlimited potential it gives users in defining and maintaining their
identity. This includes stationery, website icons and buttons, sports
teams, festivals, organizations, fundraisers, local guides, conventions,
fraternal organizations, educational institutions, television or radio
media, newspapers and publications, music events or artists.
macXware software is now
available in Apple retail stores, CompUSA, Fry’s Electronics, Microcenter and other software
retailers or online at www.macXware.com.
