faq's - MacBurn Q.
Does MacBurn support disc spanning?
A. No, but we are planning on including this in a future
release.
Q. Does MacBurn support dual burners?
A. MacBurn has the ability to select which burner you wish to burn
with on machines with multiple burners, but does not have the ability
to burn to multiple burners at the same time.
Q. My computer won’t open MacBurn now, although
it was working fine before?
A. Delete the "MacBurn Temp Folder" from your home user folder,
and then Delete the file "MacBurnPrefs" from your /Library/Preferences
folder located in your home users folder. Now re-start MacBurn.
Q. Does MacBurn support external CD-RW and
DVD-RW, as well as FireWire and USB?
A. MacBurn will support any CD/DVD burner that is directly supported
by Mac OS X. What this means is that a specific external burner may very
well be supported. A good way to know this for sure is to see if you can
burn using that drive from the Finder or iTunes applications.
Q. Does MacBurn allow you to burn multi-session
DVD’s?
A. Unfortunately, no. At this time burning multiple sessions to a single
DVD-R is not supported (by MacBurn or any other DVD burning software on
the Mac).
Q. Can I create multi-session CD’s that
can be read on BOTH Mac and PC? ?
A. No, multiple sessions are only supported with Mac (HFS+) formatted
CDs. Attempting to burn any other format of CD with multiple sessions
can produce some rather strange results. Currently neither Apple nor Microsoft
support PC formatted (Joliet or ISO 9660) CDs with multiple sessions.
Q. What’s the best way to copy an audio CD
using MacBurn?
A. In order to burn an audio CD with MacBurn the source audio
files need to be available at the time of the burn. So, we recommend "ripping"
the audio from the CD using an application like iTunes (or simply copy
the audio files from the CD to any spot you wish on your hard drive).
Then select Audio in MacBurn and add those audio files to MacBurn (such
as by drag and drop). You can then simply re-order those files how ever
you like by dragging them around.
Q. Is it possible to do multiple sessions
with photo files?
A. Yes, just select "Mac" from the drop down box next
to where you set the disc name in MacBurn and check the "Allow Additional
Burns" on the burn options sheet.
Q. Can I copy my DVD’s, or make VCD’s using
MacBurn?
A. No, at this time MacBurn does not feature these options, but
they will become available in a future release.
